Outer Wild’s wonderful DLC - Echoes of the Eye explores some fascinating questions.
The game raises questions about life, death and immortality.
What would it mean for us if we were immortal?
Is it a good idea to be immortal?
What is the psychology of immortality?
And how to deal with the fact that we are all mortal?
Are all questions that the DLC raises.
But Echoes of the Eye does not only raise those questions, it also answers them.
In this video we are going on quite an unusual journey.
We will first revisit Outer Wild's wonderful DLC.
We will explore the strange alien station that is hidden in the solar system and dig up it’s many mysteries together, we will stop and discuss interesting things along the way, we will take a deep dive into the psychology and philosophy of human immortality and death, dig up some thousand year old writings on the matter and in the end we will take a look at what answer Echoes of the Eye gives to the question of whether it is a good idea to strive for immortality.
