Called the Fanalone for its larger diameter inner headlights, the Lancia Fulvia 1600 HF is the car that started Lancia’s decades long rally-winning dynasty. When people say “make Lancia great again,” these are the cars they’re talking about. The Fulvia was not specifically designed to be a rally car, but to be fair, nor was any other car in the 1960s. At the time, rallying was an activity that people did in competition-prepared street cars and any competence a car had on the slippery stuff was a pleasant byproduct rather than an intentional design characteristic. The Fulvia excelled because of its unusual technical characteristics: front wheel drive, narrow angle V4, and well-reasoned suspension design. In this episode of ISSIMI Drives, Derek Tam-Scott travels to Monaco to drive the ultimate Fulvia, the 1600cc HF Fanalone, not far from the roads where these cars laid the groundwork for Lancia’s incredible subsequent successes with the Stratos, 037, Delta S4, and Integrale. #ISSIMI #Lancia #Fulvia ________________ About ISSIMI The niche, $30b industry of collectable and low-production cars has seen little innovation in the past several decades. It’s one that lacked transparency, dependent on traditional dealers, brokers, and auction houses with unnecessarily high fees. We’re setting out to change that. We believe our technological and operational excellence can decrease costs while increasing transparency into car quality, building trust between collectors. Give us a shot, and shop rare cars anywhere in the world from the comfort of your own home.
