How adaptive cruise control works. Adaptive cruise control is one of the first steps in moving towards autonomous driving vehicles. It allows the vehicle to regulate speed and braking on the road to maintain a set following distance behind the vehicles ahead. This video shows how this feature works in the 2021 GMC Terrain.
