How are they fed on Russian Trains? I try Food in the Restaurant Car
Hello friends, not so long ago, I was traveling on the Moscow - Adler train and I think many people will be interested to find out how they still feed in our long-distance trains.
This is how this 2-storey, brand-new long-distance train, recently launched by Russian Railways, looked like. On the second floor there is quite an ordinary compartment. Only the third row of shelves is missing. The benches are long, I fit in full height. On the second tier, a tall passenger will not be able to sit in full height, take this into account when planning a trip.
Lower shelf
Immediately upon landing, each passenger was waiting for such a bun. It tastes a little bland, kefir would go with it.
Then they brought a box with a dry diet
I was immediately seized with the desire to immediately see what our glorious innovators put in this miracle Lunchbox.Well, I won't torment you too much, let's look inside together.
And inside we were waiting for a small bottle of water, a very sickly sweet candy with nougat, a package with ketchup, a mentos-type mint candy.
To be honest, I thought That this was the end of the whole diet, but no, a few hours have passed and here is a new gift of fate from the glorious conductor.
Modern packaging, all products are fresh
Inside, as it is written on the label, there was boiled buckwheat with full-fledged pieces of pork. If the passengers expressed a desire, it was possible to change this dish to another - there was a choice of chicken breast with white rice. I liked the taste, it was satisfying, delicious, healthy. A little dry, but it was the same ketchup from the first box.As a surprise, all passengers were given disposable slippers, toothpaste and a brush.
The slippers are all the same size, about 40, small for men, large for ladies.
In general, this was the end of the feeding, but in order not to stretch your legs from hunger, on a daily journey, everyone was kindly invited to go to the restaurant car. Well, for the sake of curiosity, I decided to look at this "Restaurant"
Pasture restaurant on a long-distance train
As you can see, there are not many people, I was immediately offered a table and a menu.
The menu is like in good-quality establishments in Moscow
A choice of business lunches of 3 options for 750 rubles each. Soups, salads, drinks, everything is like in a small cafe.Only here was one new price tag here, more expensive than in Sochi on the embankment. Any soup and salad was 300-350 rubles, for a small portion. Ordinary tea 300r. !!! God, it's probably divinely delicious here since such prices, I thought and risked ordering a salad with mushrooms and chicken + a cup of coffee with a bun.
Salad with mushrooms and chicken, looks disgusting
You can see the portion yourself, it's a little more than a saucer from a coffee cup. There was exactly 1 piece of chicken, cold mushrooms, not fresh vegetables, seasoned with greasy mayonnaise. Honestly, I ate literally 1 fork, realized that it was a little edible substance and pushed it aside. He sipped his usual Americano with a bun and asked for the bill.Salad 300, coffee 300, bun 50, guess how much it turned out? Sit down, there is no deuce for you, not 650, read my article about America, they also have a sum that does not converge)
725! The receipt credited 10% for the service, although it was not indicated anywhere. I give the cute girl these 700 rubles, say thank you and go to the compartment to wait for the nearest stop to go buy food ;)Of course, thanks to Russian Railways for their efforts, some progress is still visible in the field of transportation of people, but the level of service is stuck somewhere for 15 years from the entire civilized world.
