Among the best-known Muslim leaders, Saladin is arguably in the very first place.

Evolving in an epic context (that of the Crusades), winning victories that marked history (Hattîn and Jerusalem in 1187), everyone knows Saladin.

Even more, a majority of people respect him.

But the most interesting thing is that this deference, even this admiration for Saladin does not date from the famous film Kingdom of Heaven…

They are the result of a tradition of more than 8 centuries!

Even more surprising, it was first in the West that his name was glorified...
