Ever wondered what the difference is between the way Muay Thai, Taekwondo and Karate practitioners throw their roundhouse kicks? Well, I am here to answer that question. The Taekwondo Roundhouse Kick is based off of speed, with a vertical kicking chamber is designed to get to its opponent as quick as possible to score the point. The Muay Thai Roundhouse kick is a powerful attack, designed to knock its opponent off balance and dominant in the ring. They also have the famous switch kick with the lead leg that we go over! Lastly, every Karate style like Kempo, Kyokushin, Shotokan, Goju and more throw their Roundhouse Kick (Mawashi Geri) in different ways, but here is how an American Karates front kick is compared to those of Taekwondo and Muay Thai. Lastly, we talk about why the lead leg roundhouse kick can get so much power and be so fast!
