The Fehmarn Belt Fixed Link is a new tunnel that finally spans the 18 kilometers of the Baltic Sea between Germany and Denmark—the Fehmarn Belt.
Due to constraints, engineers opted for an immersed tube tunnel over a bridge or traditional bored tunnels to make the crossing happen.
When completed, this will be the world's longest immersed tube tunnel by THREE TIMES.
