Opening up Pokemon and hearing those opening notes is a feeling that so many of us are all too familiar with. But no matter which console or Pokemon game it is, we all share the same desire: to momentarily escape the real world. Pokemon, after all, is pure fiction - it sucks you into a world where your fantasies become experiences. But really, is that true? Looking just a bit deeper, you’ll notice that there are genuine nuggets of wisdom. For example, one recurring theme in Pokemon has been morality. Many people may trace the origins of Pokemon morality to Black and White - games whose entire plot questions the very fundamentals of Pokemon. However, in my opinion, the freedom of choice and moral pressure dates all the way back to Generation 2: Pokemon Gold and Silver.
