I've spent the last 2 weeks researching how the best animators on YouTube make their maps and I've found some answers, I hope they help others.
Popular Illustration software:

Specific MAP Making Software ➤ Inkarnate/ Wonderdraft/ Azgaar's fantasy map generator
Popular animation software:

I've always wanted to know how popular animators made their video but was stuck at the first hurdle of understanding the maps they used.
This is just what I think these creators use, some of them may not be correct i.e. Invicta but the others I'm fairly sure are.
At around 2:05 When I said 'they are similar, they are quite different'. I meant the map styles are similar in presentation but the actual maps themselves are unique. Apologies at 2:20.
