How Hitman 3's Year 1 Almost Killed The Franchise
Hitman 3 / Hitman World of Assassination, may be in a fantastic place these days, but that wasn't always the case. Back in it's year 1 support, IO Interactive were entirely focused on live service monetization over the player's feedback. Leading to many controversial decisions that ran players off, or kept them from buying the game. But despite looking like Hitman 3 was on it's way to the graveyard, alongside many Live Service Games at the time. IO were able to pick themselves up and deliver one of the biggest comebacks in recent history.
