This is it folks - Devlog 0.
I’m a Solo Indie Game Developer making a 2D Platformer inspired by Ghostrunner and Celeste. Join me on my game dev journey as I go in-depth on all the game design lessons I learn while I undertake this undertaking.
In this episode, I talk about how game mechanics, level design and meta progression work in tandem to produce a gameplay loop that keeps players coming back.
I pull from a tonne of different sources, including Game Maker’s Toolkit, GDC and even some academics like Bartle and Juul.
The next episode will most likely be about how I’m creating and implementing the game’s adaptive music, so stay tuned and what not.
