Here's how I set up the nosewheel steering gyro in my 80mm Freewing F-22 Raptor. Instead of running the steering servo directly off the rudder channel, I set up a curved mix which allows me to control the nosewheel steering independently from the rudder channel. And, using the gear switch to control the mix lets me disable the steering servo when the gear is up.
