I'm a long-time owner and fan of Spyderco's Tri-Angle Sharpmaker sharpening system. It's a relatively inexpensive but effective method for bringing an extremely sharp edge to almost any knife (or other edged instruments, for that matter). Having owned one for several years, I'm still quite impressed with its durability, versatility and portability (ility, ility, ility!!). This is Part 1 of 2, in which I'll try to demonstrate how I resharpen my knives, using Spyderco's sharpener along with an small and inexpensive leather strop. The knife I'll use is the Spyderco Tenacious, which uses 8CR13MOV for its blade steel. Despite the overall softness of the steel, I must say that it has held an incredible edge thus far, and I was pleased with how quickly it was restored to factory sharpness (or better) after just a few minutes of sharpening and stropping. Thanks very much for taking the time to watch!
