In this video, I discuss starting a company (OddsJam) & the entire process of running a startup. I give advice and tips for entrepreneurs who want to start a startup. The whole goal of this video is to outline things I learned in college at Stanford as well as early in my career at Susquehanna International Group trading (SIG).

My first piece of advice is about having only so many shots on goal in your career. Starting a startup takes years. You can't start 100 companies in your life, so you need to be intentional about the things you choose to work on. I love sports & gambling, so OddsJam was a very natural fit for me. I could work 100 hours or more per week & still be very happy.

I also discuss venture capital. VCs get a good rep in the media, but they're mostly vultures. Not only do they kill your time as a startup founder, but you lose control of your own business. Obviously, some businesses and startups requires venture capital, so avoiding funding early in a company isn't always possible.

OddsJam is a sports betting software to help bettors win. OddsJam has sports betting tools such as arbitrage & Positive EV. I thought about other startup ideas, but I ultimately love sports & data so much that this was the most natural fit.

I also explain a bit about picking a cofounder. I worked with my best friend from high school and college. I also worked with other people I went to high school with.
