This video is all about my favorite way to varnish my paintings. I use an Iwata W400 spray gun with liquitex permanent varnish which is 100% acrylic. A permanent varnish acts as an isolation layer or clear coat over the painting to protect it from dust, uv light, and humidity. If you use createx illustration colors or com-art, make sure to apply the varnish in THIN layers. Too much too fast will activate the paint underneath and will all but ruin the painting. Always test on a practice piece before applying a varnish.
