How Overpowered is Networking in Sims 2 Anyway?

How Overpowered is Networking in The Sims 2 Anyway? In the previous video we tested overpowered game mechanics from the Open For Business expansion and today we're moving on to another pack, Apartment Life, to try out networking. According to The Sims Wiki, when a Sim meets a new townie, there's a 30% chance they'll network, depending on their relationship. If the Sim gains enough daily relationship points, they might be given a beneficial network. The benefits include, but are not limited to getting expensive items, job offers, wage rises, promotions, and more. Secret networking can only be received by newly met townies; if the townie has given a network or didn't give one the first time they met, they'll never network again. Given that some of the networking benefits are huge – for example, the Sim might receive a TV, worth 8k – and the chances of them occurring are allegedly rather high, I decided to see if it's possible to make a living just via networking.
