Episode 14: Even though critical scholars reached a broad consensus on the dating and context of the book of Daniel long ago, Daniel’s dating and purpose remain contested in religious circles. In this video, I analyze the genre of Daniel and present some of the reasons scholars date it to the Maccabean period.
