Born by accident as a by-product of another project Adam Wathan was working on at the time and brought to life following a Starbucks chat with @SteveSchoger, Tailwind CSS has gone from being a mere collection of stylesheets to one of the world’s most popular CSS frameworks in the space of 5 years. Ranking 1st in CSS framework user satisfaction and interest in the last 3 StateOfCSS reports and breaking 2 million weekly downloads back in January 2022, Tailwind CSS may not exist today if it wasn’t for Bootstrap 4 switching from Less to Sass and Adam live streaming his work on KiteTail.
