Large metal crossed roller bearings are expensive. 3D printing can significantly reduce the cost, but fully 3D printed bearings don't last very long. In this video I design and make a large 3D printed crossed roller bearings (with a METAL RACEWAY) to create a hybrid design that is much cheaper than an all-metal commercial crossed roller bearing. 00:00 Introduction 00:10 Characteristics of a ball bearing 01:16 Characteristics of a crossed roller bearing 02:06 Designing a 3D printed crossed roller bearing 03:14 Assembling crossed roller bearing (without raceway) 04:40 Testing crossed roller bearing (without raceway) 05:06 Improving crossed roller bearing design (with metal raceway) 06:04 Assembling improved crossed roller bearing (with metal raceway) 07:17 Bending metal wire with DIY 3D printed wire bender 10:48 Testing improved crossed roller bearing (with metal raceway) 12:02 Closing
