This video covers the steps to balance a tire using the KATOOL KT-B700 Balancing Machine. I found out via trial and error a couple of things to get a good balance with the machine. If you are balancing a steel wheel and there is a front and back lip, you just use the hammer on weights and install them to the top of the tire lip (12:00 position) when the machine shows all the leds lit up to indicate the point to install the weights. If you are balancing a wheel and putting the weights on the barrel of the wheel, you need to stick on the weights at the bottom of the tire barrel (6:00 position) when the machine shows all the leds lit up to indicate the point to install the weights. On a combination balance, where you put weights on the back lip and on the barrel, you install the weights to the top of the back lip, and the weights on the barrel at the lower point of the barrel (again where the leds show where to put the weight). It doesn't seem to make sense at first, but you can only hammer weights on in the upper portion of the wheel, and it is a lot easier to stick the weights on the lower portion of the barrel, where you can see where you are putting the weights. After figuring this out, and figuring out the calibration, I'm getting great results with this machine. Sorry in the video I kept calling the width measurement of the rim with the gauge the diameter. And I call the area where all the led lights are illuminated to indicate where to add the balance weights the heavy or weighted side. Long ago when it indicated where to add weight we called it the heavy side because you are adding weight there.
