Seed packs are loaded with information, and it can feel like a lot at times. We're going to go over what everything means so you know how to navigate all of the info and make sure you're giving yourself the best chance to succeed in the garden. INSIDE the packs, we have amazing things. What about the outside? The outside of the seed packs are super important to us, and we've spent a lot of time working on these. The front is straightforward with the name and picture, but the pack has some key info for gardeners in zones 9 and 10. We have two seasons here, so we make note of that right away in the top right corner. On a related note, we don't have anything about frost dates because that's rare here in these zones. Related to the season, we list the ideal soil temperature. Crops don't NEED that temp, but it's their ideal to do well. Colder soil temperatures will slow growth. So now that you know WHEN to plant, what about HOW to plant? We'll let you know if a crop should be directly sown or started as a transplant, and some crops can be done either way! We also tell you special things about that crop, like if it does well in containers, needs some kind of support (ex. trellis), or is a rare variety. Of course, you'll also want to know things like planting depth, days to germination, thinning & final spacing, and days to maturity. It's all there! And if all of that isn't enough, we have a QR code that links you to our site with everything else you could want to know!
