This is the first part of my series "Compact Table Saw". This part shows the making of the compact table saw's motor unit. For materials I decided to use mainly plywood. Plywood is strong, dimensionally stable and wear resistant at the edges. For the Motor of the saw I used my Bosch PKS 66. The most interesting feature of this saw is the trunion tilt mechanism. Though it requires some accuracy and planning to make this mechanism actually work, it allows the saw blade to stay at it's place at the surface of the table even when the saw it tilted. The secret is that the trunions allow for a tilting axies that is excatly in plain with the surface of the table top.
