How to Build an 8 x10 Deck for Beginners

This video goes step by step on how to build an 8ft x 10ft deck for beginners. I used all pressure treated lumber from Lowes. The boards are put tight together because they will shrink leaving a nice 3/16 gap when they dry. I bury the posts and backfill with the dirt we removed earlier. The cost of this deck for the materials only was around $800 then and around $1100 today ( 2025 ) Below are all the tools i use and a link to free drawings and material lists of two decks. As a home owner and a do it yourselfer you should have these tools. You will be successful and proud at the end of your deck build and may want to keep them. If you decide this will be your first and last time building, then sell all the tools no less than 75% of what you paid for them. Good luck and you can do it !!!!!!!
