Information for first time user/tourist to London on how to buy and use the Transport for London (TfL) Oyster travel card. How to use the London underground/tube map: https://youtu.be/fqfsgka9XjE?si=WnJ3jggDkwQfiCED https://youtu.be/K5rwhmZ6iVM?si=uMVMph47eOagJ5XY\ Note: Overseas visitors, if your contactless card doesn't work or if your card issuer charges you a fee, then it is best to buy the Oyster card. Don't buy a paper ticket unless that is the only journey you will make because the single journey paper ticket costs much more (maybe even double) than if you had used a contactless or Oyster card (travel fares are the same for Oyster card or contactless card). Another benefit of using an Oyster card is that if there is a problem you can go to the staff at the station. They can check and give you a refund or make the appropriate manual correction. If you used a contactless card to pay, then you'll need to contact your bank to sort out the problem.
