Tiles are thin objects made of hard materials like ceramic, stones and generally used for covering roof, floors and walls. The quantity of materials required for tile work depends upon the thickness of cement mortar used. The thickness of mortar is more in floor tiles in comparison to wall tiles. For floor tiles, the thickness is taken as 1.5 inches and 1inch for wall tiles.
