How To: Carpet Adhesive Removal and Diamond Grinding

New floor coatings perform best when applied to a properly prepared concrete slab. All old sealers, adhesives and coatings must therefore be removed. While there are a few ways to achieve this, one way that’s effective is by diamond grinding. The process uses abrasives to scratch the concrete surface clean and leave an absorbent canvas. Once done, the concrete is ready for whatever comes next.

The video documents the removal of sticky carpet adhesive. The bulk is first scraped by carbide blades to assist the grinding process. Once the majority of the glue is removed, diamond blades clean the residue.
