Redfishing in Winter in the wind! Who would have thought.
We used to think that it was almost useless to try to go Inshore Fishing for redfish, snook, and trout right after a cold front (that usually brings in not only cold weather, cold winds).

However, after becoming a student of inshore fishing and testing out my skills in pretty much every tide, moon phase, time of the year, windy days, and cold days, I have come to one conclusion...
The fish are ALWAYS eating... you just have to know where to find them and what to present to them.
In this video, my brother Joe and I go down to St. Pete, FL to a completely brand new fishing ground for us and meet up with Salt Strong U.S. Open Strong Angler Challenge Chris Olt to deliver his Salt Strong Yeti that he won.
Chris had never fished this area either, so the night before I did a bit of research using Google maps to determine some of the best looking spots for the upcoming windy and chilly day.
The forecast called for up to 20 MPH winds the day we were fishing, and as you will see towards the end of the video (when we are at the boat ramp), the wind is howling.
But check out how many inshore fish (we catch a handful of reds, snook, trout, and even a barracuda) all using artificial lures, and we knocked all of this out in just a few hours.
