▶NOTE 1: BRACKETING CHORDS ◀
If you are using a specialized program to create or display your chord charts, some programs (like Planning Center or OnSong) will actually work better if the chord chart is initially created with a "bracket format" rather than a chord-over-lyrics format. (ex: Your [G]praise will ever be on my [D]lips). The program will then read this bracket format and create a highly precise chord-over-lyric chart. But if you don't have a fancy program, then this video shows you how to straight up make the chord-over-lyrics chart from scratch.

▶NOTE 2: TWO COLUMNS◀
I also chart in 2 column formats as well, depending on the length of the song and phrasing of stanzas. If you are needing to copy and paste your chord chart into a chord chart app then you'll need to consider if that app can support two column formats, as I know that some can only support 1 column.

▶NOTE 3: SPECIFYING BEATS & BARS◀
I will often times specify the amount of beats a chord or progression will be played for. This is especially helpful for Intro and Interlude sections where there are no lyrics. For example, let's say I'm in 4/4 time and I want 1.5 bars of E, then a walk up on beats 3 & 4 of bar 2. And then 2 bars of A2. I would type it like this:
| E / / / | / / F#m E/G# | A2 / / / | / / / / |

▶NOTE 4: WORD PROCESSING SOFTWARE◀
Since making this video, Google Docs has definitely taken over my general, everyday word processing. But it works nearly identical to Microsoft Word, so I still do all the same formatting in Docs that I do in Word.
