I've taken this video out of a longer video that shows the detail of how I create foliage pads on junipers. Please note this is the way I do it and it only my experience. There will be other ways others will do it but this is what I do. Trimming crotch growth, trimming downwards branches, trimming strong top group and creating pads are my steps and shown in this video.
