This is by no means an exhaustive list, so please search out multiple sources of information when learning to hike. There are certified hiking guides who would be wonderful (and official) sources of knowledge. I am not a guide.
The beauty and joy of being out in nature is unmatched. Please ensure you follow leave no trace principles. Carry out anything you carry in. Stay on trail to protect the sensitive environment. Be respectful to the beautiful lands you are traveling through.
