In this video I show the common causes of a skipping or jumping bicycle chain.
The issues tends to reveal itself in one of two ways:
1. Skipping or jumping while pedalling hard under load.
2. Chain jumping between gears every few seconds when riding normally.
The first issue is usually the result of worn components, especially chain, cassette/freewheel and chainring (in that order). changing a chain in good time will keep the risk of this at bay, but if it's already happening to you, I'll talk you through what you can do.
The second is more common and is nearly always the result of a stretched cable. Again, Ill talk you through the process of identifying and fixing the issue to get you back on the road.
It's quite a 'wordy' video but not too waffley...enjoy, subscribe and check out my other videos too!
