Doing a correlation example by hand is a great way to really understand correlation. We will begin with the assumptions for the data and the necessary settings for null hypothesis testing. Next, I will show you an example of using the correlation formula on a simple dataset. You will also learn how to test for the significance of a correlation using a t test. This will get you acquainted with the procedure. Then we will learn how to do it using statistics software.
