How to Download and Process Sentinel-2 Data Using Raster Product Files in ArcGIS Pro

Video Not Working? Fix It Now

In this video, I will guide you through downloading Sentinel-2 satellite images using the new Copernicus Open Access Hub and exploring the Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem—the latest innovation in Earth observation data. This ecosystem provides instant access to a vast repository of free and open Earth observation data, including both new and historical Sentinel images, as well as data from Copernicus Contributing Missions. After downloading the data, I’ll show you how to open it in ArcGIS Pro using the Raster Product File. This file simplifies your workflow by enabling automatic composite band stacking for 10-meter resolution bands like Band 2, 3, 4, and 8. You can also generate automatic band combinations effortlessly. However, Sentinel-2 data includes 20-meter and 60-meter resolution bands, for which automatic stacking might not work. In such cases, I’ll explain how to perform manual band stacking using the Composite Bands tool. This tutorial is designed to help anyone interested in downloading Sentinel-2 data and efficiently processing it in ArcGIS Pro.
