Learn how to drape a basic bodice on a dressform... Half-Scale. If you have a half-scale dressform sitting on your shelf, join me to see how easy it is to create custom sloper that you can use to practice fitting adjustments or design new styles. Draping is a wonderful technique to create pattern pieces with fabric vs. using a set of body measurements and drafting it on a piece of paper. I'll show you how to prepare your muslin fabric and pin it on to the dressform. Starting at center front/back. See how to smooth the fabric around the curves and how darts transform a flat piece of fabric into a shape that fits! If you want to give this a try and you only have a full sized dressform... Great news, you can use the same steps to drape a slope on the dressform you have! 00:00 Intro 01:59 Supplies and How to Prepare the Muslin Fabric to Drape a Bodice 04:31 How to Drape the Front Bodice Sloper 12:49 How to Drape the Back Bodice Sloper 17:58 How to True-Up the Draped Muslin and Create Paper Pattern Pieces 27:44 How to use the Paper Pattern Pieces to Check the Fit of the Slope on the Dressform 31:58 Outro Cool Tools: Half-Scale Dressform https://youtu.be/GbWBJGZCTkY Here's My DIscord Invite Link if you'd like to join us! https://discord.gg/BFRKckkEWz Links to everything J Stern Designs: https://linktr.ee/jsterndesigns
