In this tutorial, I'll show how to draw a photo realistic Deer in graphite. The techniques required when using the graphite pencils and erasers is really important. If the graphite is applied in the wrong way then the erasers will have a much harder time creating the lighter, fine details. Drawing realistic fur in graphite falls down to layers and contrast to ensure that maximum depth is achieved. We can spend hours drawing hundreds, thousands of hairs but if the values are not right then those details will not be as realistic as they could be.
