How to draw realistic fur in graphite. In this Labrador graphite tutorial I'll share tips, techniques and materials for drawing dog fur and in particular how to draw black shiny fur. I demonstrate how to use graphite powder for the base layer to build up more depth within the fur. This would work with any animal and I found it made a dramatic difference resulting in a more photo realistic pet portrait.
