In this video, I discuss how bearer assets like BTC and physical gold do not offer native yield. The only way to use them to generate cash flows or yield is to sell off small bits, lend them out in exchange for interest payments (thus destroying their value as bearer assets), or borrow against them and use the fiat proceeds to buy financial instruments, real estate, or a business that offers cash flow and can cover the interest payments.
I think that MSTY is a risky product that should be avoided by everyone who's not able to read the prospectus and assess the risks for themselves.
It makes little sense to me to sell covered calls against an asset that I expect to go up a lot over time. Even the heightened premiums from the high implied volatility will probably not be enough to keep pace with BTC's own fiat price appreciation.
I prefer to hold a bearer asset like BTC in cold storage over any stock or Wall Street product. If you live long enough, you will too.
