There's no denying that one of the most desired goals on guitar is to play FAST! But how to effectively practice in order to develop speed on the guitar? Hours of practice are mandatory, but even that can be frustrating and ineffective if done wrong. It's not about learning a thousand different licks and patterns, it's actually the opposite! In this video I explain the 3 things that are the pillars to developing speed on guitar: EXPLORE the many different techniques to find what feels natural to you and prioritize the ones that feel better right away! FOCUS your practice routine on fewer exercises that are short and contain the essence of the technique, that will help you develop muscle memory in a much shorter period of time, keeping the patterns simple help you focus on the details that really matter! REPEAT, once you found what you feel good and the exercises that contain the essence of that technique, it's time for repetition! Put in the hours, set a tempo that is challenging yet not so fast you mess up more than nail it, but don't get comfy playing too slow either! Keep pushing yourself, be patient and trust the process! It takes time, but IF you do this, you WILL get there!
