Usually I use a 10 blade on faces, a 30 blade on feet, and a 8 blade under the tail.
Definition of terms: (These are used in my salon and NOT industry standard. Other groomers may want exact instructions and blade lengths.)
BST=Breed Standard- Correct Style for this breed.
BPT=Breed Profile-Made to look like the Breed Standard, using pet grooming techniques ( like a Scotty which is clipped as opposed to stripped).
PT=Pet Trim- A style that is directed by the pet Parents, usually with a blade (5,4,3, 5/8ht) used on the trunk of the body with scissored Pillar legs. Face styles vary with the breed, type of dog, and pet parent requests.
FIS=Fusion Inspired- Styles that are typical of Asian Fusion Freestyle Trims with a tight body (5 or 7 blade) and flared legs.
HST- Hand Scissored to the length requested by the pet parent, typically with a rounded face and feet.
This will help newcomers to the industry understand what they are seeing, and pet parents to know the difference in styles.
