This year I decided to grow birdhouse gourds aka bottle gourds, calabash gourds, white flowered gourds . I started some of the seeds for these in the greenhouse and the rest I direct seeded outside. In this video I will be talking about how to grow birdhouse gourds, what type of soil birdhouse gourds like, what family birdhouse gourds are in, how to tell the difference between the male and female flowers on your gourd plant and why I recommend training them to climb a trellis. I will also be discussing what family birdhouse gourds are in. I am growing my gourds in Pennsylvania in zone 5b.
