How to Grow Moss - Part One | Our Japanese Garden Escape

This video is all about moss. Moss is arguably the most integral part of any Japanese garden and definitely the most pictured plant life in any tranquil Japanese garden setting. Many challenges are faced when trying to grow moss, especially in climates not native to Japan and some of these issues are covered in this video. We look at taking a piece of ground and explain how to transform it over time and with patience into a beautiful moss covered area. Steps such as clearing denser grass patches, carefully removing rooted weeds and grass, retaining existing moss and encouraging the right micro climate are covered.
