Apparently DEFRA discourage uk growers from growing Yacon due to risk of leaf yellowing virus spreading to potato crop, this is due to some tubers being imported with leaf yellowing virus, however it’s still legal to buy and plant Yacon, but they discourage saving tubers and replanting them.
