Practicing licks in all 12 keys is just the smart thing to do. The worlds top musicians definitely do this kind of practice and in this video I show you a super cool and extremely useful Major Scale Lick that can be used in lots of different ways. It's incredibly straight forward and easy to understand yet very powerful.
In this video I play the lick for you, we take a look at the structure of it so that we can completely understand it and that means we can replicate it in other keys. We look at how it can be used in different ways to create stunning saxophone solos.
Then we take the lick round in all 12 keys and practice it together, me playing it first and leaving a space for you, just like I would in a private lesson. I provide the notes at the bottom of the screen for you. At the end of the video there is a worksheet that you can screenshot and print out.
