Video Not Working? Fix It Now

In this episode, I teach y’all how to chain up in the real world. I wanted to make a thorough video because the ones I’ve seen on YouTube left me with questions out in the field. I cover everything involved, step-by-step, and address some pitfalls you might encounter out in the field. If you have any questions, just ask in the comment section, and I will try to answer quickly. The steps are: 1. Lay the chains on the ground, and straighten out any twists. Make sure the knuckles are facing up (as in the video) and the D cams are facing away from the truck 2. Drape the chains over the tire, and tuck the excess chain PERFECTLY between the dual tires. 3. Hook the second loose link on the outside of the tire. (You won’t be able to access the inside hook and links) 4. Roll the truck forward about three feet so the tire turns 1/4 rotation 5. Hook the inside on the second loose link, and adjust the chains evenly on the tire. Both hooks (inside and outside) should be on the second link. 6. Tighten the D cams, starting with the bottom cam. 7. Roll the truck forward and backward 10-15 feet, then readjust the chains as described in the previous two steps. 8. Add at least three bungee chords, stretching them as tightly as you can. (See video) 9. Roll to the end of the chain-up area and recheck the tightness of the chains Try not to drive over 35 mph while chained up
