Lightroom’s new masking experience is very powerful. A common workflow is to apply adjustments to one area of a photo using a mask, copy and invert the mask, and apply a different set of adjustments to other areas. With Lightroom’s new masking tools, you can build a “composite” or “combined” mask using the Add, Subtract, and Intersect features. These features add what Adobe refers to as a “component” to your overall mask. Once you have a mask you like with multiple components, how do you invert it?
Lightroom doesn’t have an invert option for the entire composite mask. You *CAN* get there with a little extra work. I’ll show you how in this video.
