You can loom knit a chicken. In this video I am using a basic double crochet stitch for the chicken's comb. Look on the back of a yarn skein to match the hook. The label will let you know what size of hook. I am using a worsted weight #4 yarn using double strands.
Use chunky yarn if you do not want to double up. Please watch the video in full before you get started and ask questions of you need to. :-)
