About the basis
I use polystyrene instead of ready-made canvas. The reason is that canvas is expensive and very inconvenient for bas-relief. Even if the canvas is stretched tightly on the board, it moves and when it dries, there is a high probability that the bas-relief will separate from the canvas, and it is 10 times more expensive than polystyrene.
Preparation of the base.
Gypsum or putty is applied to the polystyrene. It is processed until smooth. Once it is smooth with a spatula, it is cut to the required size;

Clay preparation
The composition consists of 2 types of raw materials. 1- Rotband Knauf (type of putty) 2- Iranian wood glue. Add 100 grams of glue to 200 grams of putty and mix until a dough of medium hardness is formed. The faster you mix the clay and bring it to a ready state, the longer it will last. Because the clay hardens in about 15 minutes. When the desired shape is ready, it is recommended to finish it with water. In addition, it can be used without using glue on the base
