Have you wondered how to use the grid method to transfer a drawing? How to make a sketch bigger or smaller? How to transfer an outline onto your final canvas or paper without having to redraw it? Well the grid method has been around for centuries and is very useful and straightforward as long as you do everything methodically. Sometimes you might have struggled to draw your subject, or you might need to change the scale or be struggling to get a likeness in a portrait and by using a drawing grid, it can really help. I suggest using the free gridding tool to put lines on your photo or image: www.yomotherboard.com/add-grid-to-image Thanks to Dan for developing it. There are others available, but this was simple and straight forward to use.... and free. I then show you how to use the diagonal to make sure the end paper is in the same proportion as your source sketch. We will work out the size of squares needed and then I'll take you through gridding your final paper/canvas and transferring the image. I refer to hex codes which you might not be familiar with. These are a number/letter code which specifies a particular colour. Black is 000000, white is FFF and red is ff0000. If you need a different hex code, just google it for use in the gridding app. If you find this useful, please consider liking and subscribing. I do a tip each week. If you are looking for more in depth training, I have pre recorded courses available at www.lizchadertonstudio.co.uk and have written three books, published by The Crowood Press. #lizchaderton #griddingmethod #drawingskills
