To improve water quality in an Organic Pool, Natural Swimming Pool, or pond, often the key solution is adding more plants to help mop up more nutrients from the water. With floating islands of plants it is easy to quickly add more plants for filtration and in addition, provide some beneficial shade to the water. Here, I show how I made a floating island for zero cost using a used car tyre and some plastic milk bottles.
