How To Make A Gemstone Stretch Bracelet:

Have you seen these simple beaded stretch bracelets around? You can wear one or make a few and wear them stacked. We'll show you how much elastic stretch cord to use and how to pre-stretch the Stretch Magic. We'll add the beads using a beading needle. We'll show you how to double thread the bracelet by going back through the beads a second time. Then we'll show you two knots to tie the bracelet: a surgical knot and an overhand knot. We like to add a dab of glue to the knot. Finally we'll show you how to hide the ends of the cut beading cord inside the beads.
MATERIALS
17 Round agate stone beads, aqua, 10mm
5 Crystal spacer beads, gold, 2mm x 6mm
Stretch Magic elastic beading cord, .5mm
Big-eye beading needle
G-S Hypo Cement jeweler’s glue
Bead Bug or masking tape
Scissors
Toothpick
Steps
1. Cut a 20” piece of elastic beading cord. Place a Bead Bug or a piece of masking tape at one end.
2. Thread the big-eye needle with the elastic cord.
3. Feed 6 beads onto the needle and cord.
4. Feed on a crystal spacer bead then an agate stone bead. Repeat this pattern until you have all five spacer beads between agate stone beads.
5. Feed remaining agate stone beads onto the cord.
6. Hold the cord at both ends, and pull to pre-stretch it. Repeat 2 or 3 times.
7. Feed needle back through all the beads starting at the other end.
8. Remove the Bead Bug or masking tape and the needle. Tie the ends of the elastic cord in a surgical knot.
9. To secure, tie a regular overhand knot on top of the surgical knot.
10. To hide the ends, re-thread the needle onto one end and feed it through 2 or 3 beads. Repeat on the other end of the cord.
11. Before trimming the ends of the elastic, pull the beads apart to reveal the knot. Apply glue all the way around the knot.
12. Pull one end of the cord to tug the knot under a bead and hide it.
13. Trim the end of the elastic cord.
